The Variety
Catucai 2SL, a crossbreed of Catuai and Mundo Novo coffee varietals, was developed by the Instituto Agronômico (IAC) in Brazil. This hybrid cultivar combines the best qualities of both parent plants, resulting in a coffee bean that offers a distinctive taste and exceptional cup quality. Catucai 2SL showcases a harmonious balance of acidity, sweetness, and body, making it a favorite among coffee enthusiasts.
What to Expect:
This offering tastes best 10- 14 days off of roast and we highly recommend letting it rest for optimal flavor expression. We are tasting fudge brownie, almond, and dried fruit with a sparkling citric acidity. While we are ideally roasting this for espresso, it has been a favorite on drip with a bigger bodied mouthfeel to complete the chocolate brownie tasting note. For espresso, we recommend a standard ratio of 1:2 - 1:2.5 ratio in about 26-28 seconds.
